Accommodation
Sønderborg is happy to be able to provide an accommodation guarantee for students studying here. Students who have been accepted at an education institution must apply for accommodation before Aug. 15 to the Student Housing Office (Kollegiernes Kontor). Danish students live either in student halls (kollegium), private flats or in rented rooms.Information about the accommodation procedure can be obtained from Kollegiernes Kontor.
The prices range from DKK 1,600.00-2,300.00 per month and a deposit equivalent to 2-3 months’ rent will be required as well. Both furnished as well as unfurnished rooms are available, but not equipped with linen, towels, kitchen utensils etc. These items can be rented from the student housing office.
The majority of Danish students leave home at about the age of 19-20 to live in one of the kollegiums (the Danish version of residence halls or dormitories) or in private flats in the Sønderborg area.
