Town buses
Sønderborg has five town buses – the lines 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6. See road map with town buses here. They all depart from the bus station in Sønderborg.
All pupils from the 0.-10. year who live in Sønderborg Municipality are offered a free school bus pass that they can use on all buses in the municipality, except the X buses and the night buses. An application form for the school bus pass is available from schools and a as a print-out.
When bus passes are issued, they are always sent to schools.
STUDENT BUS PASS
From the school year 2010/2011 free school bus passes for young upper secondary education students are available if the students live more than 6 km from their educational establishment. More information here. If you ordered a bus pass in 2009/2010 for the duration of the entire course, you do not need to do anything; the bus pass will be sent automatically from Sydtrafik. Under “Mit uddannelseskort” at the website www.uddannelseskort.dk, you can check if you have ordered a bus pass for the entire duration of the course.

Local buses
The local buses cover the area from Flensburg to Nordborg. There are departures to and from Flensburg every hour, and more than 20 local buses will take you around the area. All timetables and detailed descriptions can be found at Sydtrafik’s website under timetables.
Regional buses
The two X buses cover most of southern Jutland. Line 900X goes to Vejle – Kolding – Haderslev – Aabenraa – Sønderborg and return. Line 915X comes from the west. It departs from Esbjerg and travels to Ribe, Toftlund, Aabenraa and Sønderborg.

Night buses There are night buses in Sønderborg Municipality all nights after Fridays and Saturdays with departures from Sønderborg Bus Station at 2 am and 4 am. The bus will take you all the way home.
In the city zones you can get off at the existing bus stops, while in the countryside zones you can get off at your address as long as the road is public and has asphalt. The night buses travel between Nordborg, Augustendorf, Kegnæs, Sønderborg Sundeved, Broager and Gråsten. See timetables at the bottom of this page.
